Abstract:
This thesis is a collection of creative nonfiction essays. The essays range from personal to historical and are often engaged in the consideration of science, technology and progress. The collection’s specific subject matter includes: comets, the Soviet-U.S space race, nineteenth century filibustering, the U.S. moon landing, the collection and inheritance of various objects, the art of philately and messages on the back of postcards.
