dc.description.abstract This thesis is a collection of personal essays that revolve in one way or another around death, loss, history, and nature. Together they form a memoir of sorts that takes the reader from my childhood in Wisconsin through some of my military experiences and family history, to my growing interest in photography, birding, and the outdoors—and, ultimately, to Norma’s Road.
