Demand Projections and Economic Modeling for New and Renewing Communities, by Michael C. Ahn. Presented at the 5th Annual Conference of the International New Towns Association, Session IV, September 4, 1981, Tel Aviv, Israel. The purpose of this paper is to provide a structural delineation of concepts which are generally applied. Two concepts will be discussed: satellite new towns that depend on an existing cultural and economic urban center and freestanding new towns that are completely independent of any existing cities.
