Abstract:
Set in rural North Carolina in the early nineties, the novel-in-stories, Bless Fine-Hearted
Men, follows a family through the transformative years of their lives. Told from the point
of view of Honey, the family’s daughter, we experience poverty, abuse, sex and death in
the dilapidated South through the profound naïveté that only youth brings. Other
characters provide insight, as well, in order to dissect the most ominous and mature
minutiae of rural life
