Abstract:
Incompressible viscous
ows are widely studied in
uid dynamics as many
ows commonly
encountered in industry and nature fall under this category. The present study is
focused on two topics: - The implementation of an approximate Riemann solver for the
so-called arti cial compressibility method for solving the Navier-Stokes equation with temperature
and viscous terms on a structured Cartesian grid; and - The implementation of
explicit register allocation in order to see if by these means improvements in cache memory
access and the expected speed improvements can be realized.
