Note: all information given will be posted on a public response page unless otherwise noted.

Using the Internet, PROJECT BIONICS seeks to document the history of artificial organs by collecting personal reminiscences and experiences from the historical participants involved in the innovation and realization of artificial organs.

1. What has been your experience with mechanical replacement devices or machines? Any problems? Any unexpected benefits?

2. How did you feel about utilizing a device or machine for treatment? Any concerns about failure? What were your expectations?

3. What would you tell a patient who is contemplating utilizing a mechanical device or machine as treatment? What knowledge have you gained from your personal experience?

4. Is there anything else you'd like to share as a patient with some experience with mechanical replacement devices or machines?
