An Answer to Mirtilla
MS's F-H 283, 130-139.
From length and title appears to have been an epistolary and, perhaps a satiric poem similar to that she wrote to Ephelia, pages show jagged edges which suggest impulsive ripping out; when strength returned to her, Finch found a Rochester-like vein in which she could write venomous brilliant verse satire. This was probably a poem like "Ardelia's Answer to Ephelia." If we knew who Mirtilla was, this would give us a clue to why the poem was destroyed.
