From institutions trading directly with each other through Instinet and the establishment of Nasdaq in the 1960’s and ‘70’s, to individuals using SOES, E*Trade and Real Tick in the 1980’s and ‘90’s, technology has changed global financial markets tremendously. Individuals can now control their own finances online and in real time, leading to interactions and transactions that affect companies, industries, and international exchanges.
Day trading, in particular, has brought instant fortune and instant ruin to many. If you are, or were, an independent day trader, please share your experiences of this very important social, economic and technological movement that has changed the landscape of the financial marketplace forever.
