Land of Confusion

Abstract

In October 1942, in a world not too different from our own, young reporter Terry Troubadour struggles with their gender identity as well as nationality, being a nonbinary Jewish person in an era of hatred in the fictional west coast town of Azimuth City, CA. Of course, this is beside the fact that Terry is one of the many superheroes in their city, moonlighting as the electrically-charged speedster known as the Lightning Bug. When Azimuth City’s most famous superheroes go missing, Terry must charge themselves up for a true challenge, one marred with good, evil, and everything in between as they discover unsavory and mysterious facts about their city, their friends, and themselves. The world is on the edge of war, and heroism might be just what it needs.
