What Kind of Man
Abstract
This thesis is a memoir about family, marriage, and divorce. It chronicles a journey that began just after my twenty-first birthday, when I married a woman I had only known for a few months. Over the following years I confronted what kind of person I was, and what kind of person I wanted to become. This is a story of learning to be kind to yourself, even -- and perhaps, most importantly -- when you have made mistakes. This is, at its heart, a story of love and forgiveness, both of ourselves and others.
