Abstract
Letter to Rhoda Barnes from her husband Milton Barnes from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Milton recounts the battle at Chickamauga Creek which saw a defeat for General Rosecrans. During the battle Milton's regiment was 10 to 12 miles away. After the defeat it is decided to hold Chattanooga and Milton and his regiment are involved in battle with General Braxton Bragg's troops.
