Abstract

Selected Review of the U.S. Management Experience Applicable to Planned Development in New and Renewing Communities, by Jack A. Underhill. Presented at the 5th Annual Conference of the International New Towns Association, August 30-September 7, 1981, Tel Aviv, Israel. This paper is designed to describe the selected experience and literature on the management of U.S. large-scale development. Methods used in Reston, Columbia, Irvine, and Rancho Bernardo were examined and site visits were made. Also included are some advanced management practices by the New Community Development Corporation at HUD. Bibliography is not included as stated in the introduction.
