dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the study is to investigate how bisexuality is portrayed on scripted fictional primetime American television. To do so, this study focuses primarily on the following: explanations of bisexuality offered by primetime American TV, characteristics of bisexuality being portrayed, how bisexuality is defined in relation to gender, and how bisexuality is presented in regards to perceptions of sexuality. The study shows that though bisexuality is featured on television, it is featured in ways that maintain heteronormative views of sexuality. | |
