dc.description.abstract	Creating a More Perfect Community was a Teaching American History grant awarded to Alexandria City Public Schools and funded by the United States Department of Education. A partnership with George Mason University and the Office of Historic Alexandria, this grant provided professional development for teachers from 2004-2007 to improve their content knowledge through a year-long study. The goal was to create a stronger sense of community through a deeper understanding of history. The Creating a More Perfect Community website served participating teachers to help them complete the requirements of the project. The site was hosted at chnm.gmu.edu/acpstah.
