This thesis is a novel set in small town and begins with my protagonist returning home to her elderly parents to escape her failed marriage. She believes she will discover what has gone wrong in her own life by tapping into the memories of her past. To complicate the task of reconstructing history, her mother is suffering from Alzheimers and can’t remember, or remembers incorrectly, some of the stories. It is the appreciation for the role of “time” and “place” on one’s world perspective that drives my protagonist to self-discovery and a more complete understanding of her past.
