dc.description.abstractIf you have followed the news in US between January and February in 2021, an event occurred on the stock market: a group of people on a subreddit forum WallStreetBets a longstanding subreddit that had over 3.5M Reddit users that discusses highly speculative trading ideas and strategies has caused a huge disruption on the market. On Sep 19, 2020 a member of the group posted a case where the company GameStop (GME), that primarily sells video games and consoles, has been in decline due to the shift from physical media to digital paired with the COVID-19 situation.
