The purpose of this project was to examine differences in game attendance motivation among demographic subgroups of Washington Wizards spectators. Data were collected from 250 Wizards spectators via the Sport Fan Motivation Scale and indicated attendance motivation differences among key demographics including age groups and gender. Results of this study may be used by sport marketers and organizations to better define target market segments and to tailor marketing efforts to increase attendance and build a loyal fan base.
