dc.description.abstract | This thesis chronicles through a series of interrelated poems the passing from one relationship to the next, with a focus on the subject’s working within a society in which patriarchal identity is examined and a human’s capacity for violence is constantly at the forefront. In many ways, the poems endeavor to ask, or answer, the question, ‘what happens when one considers another as loved before considering that other as human?’ The results are varied and displayed variously through event, aftermath, and meditation. | |
