dc.description.abstract | Press Release from the Department of Housing and Urban Development entitled "History of the New Communities Program" and dated January 18, 1978. This press release briefly discusses the history of the New Communities program. The release mentions thirteen projects that are federally-guaranteed new communities and places these into three categories: projects capable of continued development, projects to be acquired and continued as new communities, and projects to be acquired for disposition of assets. Also, two developments, Radisson, New York, and Roosevelt Island, New York, are mentioned as receiving grants from HUD but not guaranteed assistance. Planned Community Archives Collection, 484.18 | |
