dc.description.abstract“Sorry Ecology” is a collection of poems in which I explore the relationship between desire and loss through ecological, domestic, communal, and spiritual routes. I have rendered the poems through a lyric “I,” an “I” that often uses “we,” that inhabits worlds both real and imagined, personal and shared. Throughout the manuscript, water becomes a motif to consider movement and travel, the instability of place, grief, and the ways in which desire’s limits are forever out of focus, unattainable. The poems are interested in substance and lack of substance, place and no place. The space created by the poems of this manuscript is ultimately one that interrogates and explores the nature of relationships.
