dc.description.abstract | Letter to Milton Barnes from his wife Rhoda Barnes. Rhoda writes about her reaction to the news of Lees surrender. Seeing that others celebrated by consuming alcohol, she tells Milton that she did not and makes perfectly clear her disdain for alcohol and persons who use it. She also expresses distaste for Union Army general William Tecumseh Sherman. Finally, she details other news regarding their hometown and family. | |
