In this book length collection of personal essays, I explore how relationships are shaped by trauma by focusing on themes such as coming of age, family, communication and the power of gender. The project includes three foundation essays that directly address the main point of familial conflict in the collection: the breaking and reforming of a unit of people on account of trauma and illness. The remaining essays work to characterize myself as a narrator while being written through the lens of this family being broken apart.
