Abstract

In this paper, Warfield outlines some of the basic concepts of Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). Using matrices, figures, and flow-charts, Warfield explains how the symbolic language that accompanies ISM works. He then traces the history of ISM to its "mathematical ancestors."
