Abstract
"Faced with the rapidly advancing steam shovels of the Federal Building program in the Mall at Washington, serval fine old magnolia trees are being literally rescued in the nick of time and transported by huge trucks and trailers to other places in the park. Photo shows one of the trees, weighing with its carefully packed surrounding earth more than seventy tons, being towed past the Washington Monument." Description from attached caption
