Among younger people in particular, where social media use is ubiquitous, there is concern that social media produces an adverse effect on mental health. According to an article regarding Social Media published by the National Center for Health Research, "With 13 % of 12–17-year-olds reporting depression and 32 % reporting anxiety, mental illness is a concern for adolescent health.
