Wrbican, SueAshworth, Ben2016-10-092016-10-09https://hdl.handle.net/1920/10500This thesis examines the developing philosophy of practice behind my ongoing participatory public art project and MFA thesis festival FINDING A LINE, most recently exhibited September 4-13, 2015 at The Kennedy Center. FINDING A LINE develops through practice as research, best understood as a process, a constant cycling arc of tactile searching that manifests form. Specifically, this research harnesses collective creative agency to produce form as content, form as conduit, and when combined, self-generating forms. This paper explores how each form produced has its own unique attributes linking it to the next. I present them in the order they became apparent to me and unfolding as a process grounded in experience, as a constant arc of research always bringing me back to where I began, but with new perceptual ability.enSkateboardingPublic artCollective creative agencyResearchSocial practiceFinding a LineThesis
