"Celebrating Artificial Organ History at the Smithsonian"
-- National
Museum of American History, 14th and Constitution
Ave, Washington, DC
You're Invited!
This is a rare opportunity to spend the evening at the National Museum
of American History, open only to ASAIO members,
including a special one-evening display for the occasion of ASAIO's
50th Anniversary. Smithsonian curators will display artificial organ
devices from their collections (not open to the public) and be available
for discussion and questions with ASAIO members. ASAIO members are also
invited to tour the National Museum of American History -- 3 floors
of exhibits, including a new case exhibit "Inventing Ourselves"
which displays the AbioCor TAH implanted in Robert Tools and
Yorick, the FDA device-laden skeleton. Don't miss out on this
special evening -- come and enjoy drinks and light appetizers while
viewing objects from the Smithsonian collections!
* Special thanks to our Smithsonian colleagues on the Project
Bionics Work Group who have facilitated this special event for ASAIO
members.
