Abstract

Memorandum from Joan Wofford to Robert Simon, Carol Lubin, Bernie Norwitch, and Jane Wilhelm, Re: Ford Foundation Presentation and Some Rough Ideas Very Roughly Typed, March 24, 1966. Whilst preparing the Reston proposal for the Ford Foundation, Joan Wofford submits her suggestions for grouping the various isolated projects, pet ideas, and miscellaneous programs that Simon, Lubin, Norwitch, and Wilhelm had outlined in clusters. Wofford suggests grouping the ideas as much as possible into clusters in relation to the most pressing problems and issues for Reston and the rest of the country including the need to: improve formal education and help children find more responsible social roles; train people in human service occupations and help women achieve higher goals; and the need to make adult education more meaningful.
