Abstract
"Inspired apparently by the identical motives, practically all of the 100,000 odd automobile owners decided to try out the new Arlington Memorial Bridge and Mt. Vernon Boulevard, which were opened offically yesterday by President Hoover, early this afternoon. That there was not a colossial traffic jam is due only to the excellent design and construction of the new highways, for they were filled with three lanes deep most of the time. Photo shows a portion of the cars passing over Arlington Memorial Bridge, whose pillars form a frame for the procession; in the distance, partially hidde by the arch of the span is the Lincoln Memorial" Description from attached caption
