This paper is designed to describe the selected experience and literature on the management of U.S. large-scale development. Methods used in Reston, Columbia, Irvine, and Rancho Bernardo were examined and site visits were made. Also included are some advanced management practices by the New Community Development Corporation at HUD. Bibliography is not included as stated in the introduction.
