He mentions places where they stopped including his hometown of Barnsville, Ohio as well as the country traveled through. Upon arrival in Viriginia he notes seeing Union officers Major General John C. Fremont, Brigadier General Benjamin Franklin Kelley and Brigadier General William S. Rosencrans. | |
