Photo by Abbie Edwards entitled "Terraset" dated 1975. This image is of Terraset Elementary School, located in Reston, Virginia. The school appears to be in a late state of construction. Terraset was designed as an energy efficient building. It was built partially underground and outfitted with solar cells to offset the rising energy cost sparked by the 1973-1974 energy crisis. The school construction was partially funded by Fahd Ibn 'Abd al-Aziz Al-Saud, former crown prince and now king of Saudi Arabia. Planned Community Archives Collection, 645.15
