dc.description.abstract | Letter to Rhoda Barnes from her husband Milton Barnes. Milton describes the difficulties encountered in travelling to his next command location (Nashville, Tennesee). During one point in the journey, the train on which he is travelling was derailed and attacked by conferderate guerillas. Barnes also describes coducting a makeshift absentee ballot for his troops as it was during 1864 Presidential Election. | |
